The Critérium du Dauphiné is back for its 77th edition, from June 8 to June 15, 2025. This prestigious eight-day race in southeastern France is more than just a warm-up for the Tour de France, it’s a battleground where top contenders wants to shine.
A Race Steeped in History
Since its first edition in 1947, the Dauphiné has been a proving ground for cycling legends. Riders like Bernard Hinault, Luis Ocaña, and Chris Froome have all claimed multiple victories here. Winning the Dauphiné often signals readiness for Tour de France success.

The 2025 Route :
This year’s route covers 1200 kilometers over eight stages, featuring a blend of hilly terrains, a crucial time trial, and challenging mountain finishes.
Key Stages :
Stage 4 (June 11) : Charmes-sur-Rhône to Saint-Péray – A 17.4 km individual time trial that could shake up the general classification.
6th stage (June 13) : Valserhône to Combloux – 126.7 km with the Mont-Saxonnex climb (5.5 km at 8.6%) and a summit finish.
Stage 7 (June 14) : Grand-Aigueblanche to Valmeinier 1800 – 131.6 km with a challenging mountain finish that could be decisive.
