Ardennenklassiekers vereisen explosiviteit en klimvaardigheden. Sommige kampioenen, zoals Philippe Gilbert en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.procyclingstats.com\/rider\/tadej-pogacar\">Tadej Poga\u010dar<\/a>Ik heb beide soorten gewonnen. Beide wedstrijden zijn spannend maar heel verschillend. In de Vlaamse klassiekers gaat het om pure kracht, terwijl de Ardennenklassiekers in het voordeel van de klimmers zijn.
